Minimum requirements

Mobile phone with more than 4GB memory, data cable and knoppix CD / DVD.

Connect the mobile to the computer via data cable.

Format the memory card in FAT file system (this will remove all the data in the memory card, so beware).

Download the knoppix 6.7 (a file name having ".iso" at the end) - if it is now available with you) and write it on CD / DVD.

Put the CD / DVD in the dvd drive.

Restart your computer and change the booting option in the BIOS to "Boot from CD / DVD" or "Boot from optical drive" or "Boot from removable media" or similar.

Our intension is to boot the computer / system with the Knoppix CD / DVD in the computer's CD / DVD drive..

 















"flash-knoppix" is a programe available in the menu. This program will installs all the files  (Knoppix files) needed to boot the computer into the FAT-formatted memory card and creates a boot record for make the memory card in the mobile phone bootable.
Follow the remaining onscreen instructions.
Once the process has finished, remove your Knoppix CD / DVD

Restart your computer and change the booting option in the BIOS to "Boot from  USB"  or similar.

Our intension is to boot the computer / system with the Knoppix stored in the mobile phone's memory.

 As you are aware, the Private IP (eg. home network or private network) is not visible or accessable from other computer in the public network (eg. internet).

This limitations of Private IP can be overcome by using a feature (in the router or modem + router) called DMZ or DeMilitarized Zone. Using this feature one Private IP can be made visible to the public network. The advantage of making a local computer with Private IP to public is that the we can make use of many programs that usually work on Public IP. For example Web Server, File Server, server for remote access (SSH server), Security systems which uses internet etc.

Let us configure DMZ in a BSNL ADSL Modem + Router.

We cannot check whether the configuration works as expected using the computer that comes under the same ADSL Modem + Router. To check we require a computer having different Public IP.  That is, a computer having internet connection with another modem.

Start a web browser. In the address bar type the Public IP. If we are using the computer which comes under the same public IP, it will show the modem configuration page (see the first image).

If we are using a computer with different internet connection it will show the program (eg Web Server, File Server etc) which works in the local computer with local IP.

How to install Drupal in WAMP Server

Download Drupal from http://drupal.org

Create a directory "drupal-7.2" and Unzip or decompress the files to it.
Copy the directory "drupal-7.2" to the WAMP's www directory.

Start WAMP server

Start a web browser (eg: Mozilla Firefox).
Type localhost/phpmyadmin in the address bar. Press enter.
Create a database named "drupal". This will be the database used by the drupal. Need not to create Tables.

Press Ctrl+T to open a new Tab in Firefox.
Type localhost/drupal-7.2/install.php in the address bar. Press enter.
Follow the instructions. Need not to change anything except "Username" and "Password".
There is no problem to keep the other options shown there.

To get the drupal welcome page

or Type localhost/drupal-7.2 in the address bar of the browser.

When this information required?
While installing WAMP we usually install mysql in without password mode.
After working we may set password to the mysql database.
After the password change the phpmyadmin will not work.
Do necessory changes in the phpmyadmin configuration file "config.inc.php"
Restart the WAMP server.
Start phpmyadmin. It will work without error.

Madura visheshangal

With a sudden decision we planned a short trip to enjoy the Winter cold of high ranges.
We called Jayasree Travels, Trivandrum to enquire about the availability of vehicle. They exetended their help to get a Innova with an experienced driver Sri Sivakumar.
We started from Trivandrum at 7pm to Madurai through Thirunelveli. We reached Madurai at 2am. We stayed there till 8am. Then we had our breakfast from Meenakshi Veg.Hotel. Good food.
Then we proceed to Madura Meenakshi Temple and

entered through North gate.

Then we proceed to Thirumalai Naick Palace.

 

We took our food from Madura. Then proceed to kodail kanal. We reached kodai at 6pm and took rest about one hour. Kodai Visheshangal on next blog Hi.
